Almost $600 was reported stolen from The Democratic Club on Roffee Street last Tuesday, July 9, according to the Barrington police.

The theft was reported to the police at 11:44 am. The cash had been placed in a wooden box at 9:15 pm on Monday and then locked in a closet overnight, Barrington Police Chief John LaCross said.

The closet was reopened on Tuesday morning about 11:10 am and the wooden box was reported missing, said LaCross. There did not appear to be a forced entry into the building.
