Barrington detectives are investigating a theft of $3,000 from a Rumstick Road home.
The theft was reported on Saturday, Oct. 12, at 8:42 am by the son, 67, of the woman, 97, who lives in the house, said Barrington Police Chief John LaCross. The break-in is believed to have occurred on Friday evening, Oct. 11.
The money was discovered stolen when the mother and son returned him Friday night. They found drawers in her bedroom pulled open and ransacked.
