Richard T. Hauck, 93

A former resident of East Providence, he leaves a daughter in Barrington.

 

Richard TenEyck Hauck, formerly of Rosemere Drive, Rumford, in East Providence, died on Friday Dec. 14, 2012, at Epoch on Blackstone Boulevard in Providence.  He was 93.

He was the husband of the late Arlene (Downing) Hauck.  Born in East Providence, he was the son of the late Frederick W. and Charlotte (TenEyck) Hauck.

Hauck was an engineer for the State of Rhode Island and served as the supervising engineer of power plants for the state hospitals in Cranston. 

He was a member of the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors and was also an officer of the New England Chapter, and a member and officer of the American Institute of Plant Engineers.

He was a lifelong member of  St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, East Providence, and served on the vestry. He was a 1937 graduate of East Providence High School, a 1941 graduate of Brown University and a Navy veteran of World War II.   

He leaves two daughters, Carolyn H. Perkins of West Kingston and Nancy H. Tabor of Barrington; a son, Charles F. Hauck of Chichester, NH; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Lucille H. Thatcher.  

His funeral will be held on Wednesday at 10 am from the Perry-McStay Funeral Home, 2555 Pawtucket Avenue, East Providence with a service at 11 am in St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, 81 Warren Avenue.

Burial will be in the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery. Calling hours are today, Dec. 18, from 5 to 8 pm.
