L. Dianne Eaton, 66, Retired Gas Company Worker

L. Dianne (Collins) Eaton, of Barrington, passed away on Friday Dec. 6, 2013, at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center in Providence after a brief battle with cancer. Sh was 66.

She was the beloved wife of the late Douglas F. Eaton. Born in Portland, Maine, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Evelyn (Costa) Collins.

She was a resident of Barrington for many years. She retired from the Providence Gas Company having worked there for over 30 years. She cherished spending time with family and friends, and enjoyed the outdoors whether hiking or gardening and loved the soothing relaxation of the beaches in Rhode Island and Siesta Key Florida.

She loved traveling and shopping, sspecially with her daughter, Julie. A sports fanatic, “Go Red Sox” was her mantra! 

She is survived by her daughter, Julie Cavalieri, her husband, Paul of Bristol, and her son, David Polomie, and his wife Eanesta, and also the light of her life ,granddaughter Saila of Orlando. She is also survived by her sister Charlene Micallef, and her husband Greg and three nephews. 

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 11 at the Barrington Congregational Church at 10 am. Calling hours are today, Dec. 9, from 4-7 pm. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, 450 Brookline Avenue, Boston, MA 02215 .
