Rhode Island Leads New England With Increase in Real Estate Units Sold

Across the board, there are positive trends in the marketplace that are backed by data, and as a real estate professional, I need to share the message with you!

Good news in Real Estate??!! For the last 17 months, the number of units sold year-over-year in New England has increased while inventory has steadily decreased. In October, Rhode
Island saw the largest increase in units sold, followed by Connecticut. Our

Across the board, there are positive trends in
the marketplace that are backed by data, and as a
real estate professional, I need to share
the message with you!

Recently, RE/MAX, LLC released their  RE/MAX National Housing Report. In short, nationally:

- Sales were 17.8% higher.

- Prices were 2.1% higher than last October.

- Inventory was 28.9% lower than last year with a 5.2 month supply

In addition, last week the National Association of Realtors (NAR) also released data
for October. In align with our RE/MAX reports, NAR released that this year's
Fall market appears to be stronger than the summer of 2011.

- October sales were up 2.1% from
September, and 10.9% higher than October last year.

- The October Median Price was up 11.1% from the price a year ago.

Nationally, prices have now increased 8 months in a row. Inventory remains much
lower than last year, down 21.9%.
