Active Older Adults - Warm up your Winter!

Warm up your Winter with Great Programs for Active Older Adults

A you a man or woman “of a certain age” who would like to improve your flexibility, balance and/or strength? Stop in at the Riverside Healthy Living Center, at 660 Bullocks Point Avenue in Riverside. A small wellness facility designed to provide support and encouragement to those beginning or returning to a workout program or managing a chronic disease, they are open 6-10 a.m. and 4-7 p.m. weekdays and Saturday mornings.

In addition to the very popular circuit training and small group exercise classes, the Center is offering some classes specially designed to help prevent falls, improve flexibility and build fitness:

Matter of Balance: Starting Wednesday, January 15th, this class is a great introduction to our fitness programs. It is designed to improve balance and reduce the risk of falling. Class is held on Wednesdays, 12:30-2:30 for eight weeks, and there is a $15 fee to cover the cost of the manual.

Enhance Fitness: This class is ongoing; you can join any time. Designed for people living with arthritis, the benefits of the program’s low impact classes include increased strength, balance, flexibility and reduction in arthritis symptoms. But the best benefit of Enhance Fitness is that it’s a great time!

Tai Chi: Come in on Wednesday mornings at 9:15 for 45 minutes of this join-friendly, ancient Chinese movement class. You will love it.
