RI Yo Yo Contest Coming Here

The 'White Church' in Barrington to host the first Rhode Island Yo Yo Contest on April 21.

The “White Church” in Barrington becomes the Yo-Yo capitol of Rhode Island on Saturday, April 21.

The first Rhode Island state Yo-Yo contest will be held at the Congregational Church from 10 am to 5 pm.

Players of all levels – from beginners to professionals – are invited to compete. The contest is described as a “fun day of free family entertainment.”

“It’s a great opportunity for beginners to experience the excitement of competing,” said Christine Gorton, chief of the competition.

The contest will feature a “Pick Your Trick Division” for beginners and intermediate players. There will also be a Sports Freestyle and professional Single A division.

There is a $20 registration fee. Prizes go to the winners in each division.
