Ocean Conservancy Sponsors Cleanups of Two Barrington Beaches

Cleanups at Barrington Beach and Bullocks Cove are scheduled.

Want to do something worthwhile this afternoon?

The Ocean Conservancy will hold International Coastal Cleanups today, Sept. 21, at two Barrington locations.

Volunteers will set their sights on Barrington Beach and Bullocks Cove. The cleanups run from 1 to 4 pm.

The cleanups have two-fold benefits. They will rid the beaches of debris and trash. And the trash collected will become part of a tally of all garbage found on beaches in Rhode Island, the U.S. and the world.

The tally of the trash will then be used as a source of information for future legislation aimed at keeping beaches clean by the Ocean Conservancy.
