Positively Saturday - Basic Financial Literacy 2014 Style

Many people struggle with finances their whole lives, mostly because they never learned how money works.  Financial literacy is not taught in school and is often not explained by parents (perhaps because no one taught them).  We determine how we’ll handle money based on random facts and beliefs we gather along the way.

Years ago, financial literacy was just about the numbers.  Now we know that what we believe about money influences every financial decision we make.  From money gurus Suze Orman to T Harv Eker to Rick Edelman, understanding your money mindset is the first step to financial freedom.   Whether you’re interested in being rich or just having the right amount to prevent household arguments (money troubles are said to be the number one reason for divorce), discovering your money mindset and setting it on the right course is how to start this year and the rest of your financial life out right.
