National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) Comes to Barrington Public Library

NaNoWriMo is short for National Novel Writing Month, an event that encourages teens and adults to tackle the challenge of writing a novel during the month of November. NaNoWriMo first began in 1999 and has since inspired more than 300,000 online participants, many who have gone on to write a 50,000 word novel in a month.

This November, NaNoWriMo comes to Barrington Public Library. Between November 1 and 30 write your novel in the library. Bring your pens, pencils, notebooks and electronic gizmos too! Those interested can sign up by visiting or calling the Reference Desk at 401-247-1920 x 2, or online at http://goo.gl/5lpW6r.

Once registered you will receive information on how to setup your NaNoWriMo.com account. While optional, the online account will offer email pep talks, a vast network of other Wrimos and the opportunity to upload your 50,000 page novel at the end of the month for official verification and status as a NaNoWriMo Author! Participants will also earn raffle tickets each time they visit the library to write or for attending one of the many writing and publishing events happening at the library this November. Prizes will be drawn weekly.
