Many Faces: 100 Years of Photographs of African Americans in Rhode Island

The Rhode Island Black Heritage Society hosts Many Faces, a photo exhibit featuring dozens of photographs of African Americans working and living in Rhode Island from the late 1880s to the present day.

Many of the photographs are submitted from the archives of the Rhode Island Black Heritage Society, Rhode Island Historical Society, and Newport Historical Society and have never before been displayed in public.

The opening day reception will be held on July 17th at 5:30pm. There will be food and beverages provided to all who attend. Also at the opening will be a raffle for a brand new Panasonic Lumix digital camera for anyone who becomes a member of the Rhode Island Black Heritage Society.
