Learn About Writing and Publishing Your Book at Barrington Public Library: Part 2 of 2

In honor of National Novel Writing Month this November, Barrington Public Library brings two local authors to speak about tips and tricks to writing and publishing your book.

The first author visit is Saturday, November 23 from 2 to 4 PM. Michael Squatrito of Tiverton and author of The Overlords fantasy adventure series will detail all facets of creating your novel. This includes the steps to write a novel, character creation, plot points, and the Four Pass Editing Process, as well as self-marketing, self-promotion, eBooks, and social networking.

The second author visit is Tuesday, November 26 from 6:30 to 8:30 PM. Peter Mandel of Providence and author of eleven books for kids including the new Jackhammer Sam and Zoo Ah-Choooo will discuss how to have a children's book published in today's tough market. This includes knowing when you need an agent, connecting with artists, self-publishing and other insiders' tips you need to know in order to create a marketable first book and get it into the hands of exactly the right gatekeepers in the publishing world.
