Finance for Retirees: and educational seminar at Barrington Public Library

“Finance for Retirees”--- In this educational seminar, it will look at how retirees manage their income during these days of historically low interest rates, particularly those looking to augment their pensions and/or social security. It will also cover the basics of income investing, explaining in plain language concepts such as: basic bond investing, risk/return tradeoff and reaching for yield.

These are educational seminars (not a sales pitch) and are led by Larson Gunness, a creative entrepreneur from Barrington, RI. Gunness has over 15 years of experience in the financial sector with companies like Smith Barney, Fidelity Investments and since 2006 his own firm. He holds degrees from Kenyon College, Goddard College and MIT Sloan and teaches financial literacy to community groups around Rhode Island. Outside of finance, Gunness is a musician and writer and often plays locally in his band Bay Spring Folk, along with producing the Fiddle 'N Folk Fest held in Haines Park each year.
