The 14th Annual Trot Off Your Turkey 5K/1.5M Run/Walk is taking place on Saturday, November 30, 2013. This community Thanksgiving tradition benefits St. Luke's School and also the local community as well through its partnership with the RI Community Food Bank and TapIn.
Proceeds from the event go to St. Luke's School. Past races have assisted with funding SMART Board technology and classroom computers, educational software licenses, enrichment activities, field trips, sports teams, physical plant enhancements, family events and service ministry projects which benefit the community. In addition, the race continues to partner with the RI Community Food Bank and TapIn, generating food and monetary donations to help the children and families in the East Bay meet their food and household needs.
Over the past few years, the race has drawn close to and over 1000 runners from Rhode Island and nearby Massachusetts. The race is part of the Grand Prix series of the RI Rhode Runners Club and Ronald McDonald's House Charities Running Club.
