What's Open, What's Closed Today?

Today is being recognized as the official celebration of Veterans Day. All government offices, schools and the library are closed; many businesses are open.

Today is the official celebration of Veterans Day, Nov. 12, 2012. The actual Veterans Day, of course, was yesterday, Nov. 11.

So, what is open and closed today?

Because today is considered a federal holiday, all federal and state government offices are closed. There will be no mail delivery.

Barrington Town Hall is closed, as well. So are the Barrington schools and most day care centers in town.

The Barrington library is closed as well. The Senior Center and TAP-IN shut their doors for the day, too.

TD Bank and Webster Bank are open. Four banks are closed: Citizens, Sovereign, BankNewport and Bank of America.

Most retail stores and restaurants are open. It's pretty much business as usual for them.

RIPTA will be operating on a holiday schedule.

The Bayside YMCA is open.
