Say Yes to Donating Prom Dress

A Pawtucket group is collecting dresses to help deserving teens get to their proms in style while learning about healthy relationships; you can drop it off in Riverside, Rumford or Seekonk.

Do you have a prom dress that deserves another magical night?

You can help make a teen’s dream come true by donating a gently used prom dress to her.

A “Say Yes to the Dress” drive is being organized by the Pawtucket Community Partnership Team Against Violence, comprised of the Blackstone Valley Advocacy Center, the City of Pawtucket, The Children’s Workshop, The Housing Authority of the City of Pawtucket, and the Pawtucket Prevention Coalition.

“Say Yes to the Dress” is an event on April 17 and 18 at which teens will receive a complimentary prom dress, makeup sessions, and education about dating violence, healthy relationships, and substance abuse. Approximately 150 youth attended last year. No one is turned away, so every prom dress counts.

You can bring your gently used and clean dress to any of the The Children’s Workshop locations by April 12. There are Children's Workshop locations in Riverside at 833 Willett Ave., in Warren at 410 Child St., and in Seekonk at 1334 Fall River Ave.
