Report: Water Chief Hired After Fired

Pamela Marchand, executive director of the Bristol County Water Authority for almost nine months, was terminated late last year from her previous position with the Providence Water Supply Board, and only one member of the BCWA board seems to have known about that situation before she was hired, according to Jim Hummel of Barrington in his Hummel Report.

Marchand was terminated, apparently without cause, with a quarter of a million dollar buyout of her contract by the Providence board, which was not a secret. But the Hummel Report says the Providence board won’t talk about the reason for her departure so it still remains something of a mystery.

Marchand, too, will not discuss the reason she left the Providence Water Supply Board, said Hummel in his report.
