Make Nomination for Historic Preservation

The Barrington Preservation Society is seeking nominees for its annual Elizabeth Sarget Warren Historic Preservation Award.

Do you know someone in Barrington who deserves some recognition for historic preservation?

Nominate that person for the annual Barrington Preservation Society award named for Elizabeth (Bonnie) Warren of Barrington – a longtime volunteer and recognized architectural historian.

The society’s board of trustees is seeking nominees – persons or businesses – for “outstanding work in maintaining or preserving the historic character of a property or landscape or an exceptional effort in advocating for preservation or historic or community pride in the Town of Barrington.”

For more information or a copy of the BPS application form, contact Jane Scola at 245-1818 or jascola@cox.net. 

Required information for the application includes the date of the nomination, the name and address of the honoree, the name and address of the person making the recommendation, the reason for the recommendation, an explanation of the impact of the project on the community and photographs of the project, according to Julia Califano of the BPS.

Completed applications should be sent to the BPS, PO Box 178, Barrington, RI 02806 before November 15. 

The award recipient will be announced at the preservation society’s annual meeting on Jan. 12 next year.
