Drop In on Vacation Week Recreation

The Barrington Recreation Department offers four days of activities at the middle school during February vacation week.

We know. It's February school vacation week next week. But kids between 6 and 12 might want to swing by the Barrington Middle School anyway.

The Barrington Recreation Department is offering a variety of programs for four days -- Tuesday through Friday, Feb 19-22. Each day has a morning and afternoon session.

Morning sessions run from 9:30 to noon; afternoon session runs from 12:30 to 3 pm.

Michele Geremia, Barrington's director of recreation and leisure services, said there will be games, relay races, contests, arts and crafts, a Lego building contest, and introductory clinics in baseball, soccer and basketball.

Registration forms can be downloaded online at www.ci.barrington.ri.us. You can stop by the Recreation Department office in the Peck Center as well from 9 am to noon.

Here is the February vacation week schedule:

Tuesday, Feb. 19

9:30 a.m. to noon (Session 1)

Minute to Win It, arts and crafts, sports activities

12:30 to 3 p.m. (Session 2)

Bring a favorite board game, sports activites, basketball clinic (10-12 year olds)

Wednesday, Feb. 20

9:30 a.m. to noon (Session 3)

Relay races, arts and craft, sports activites

12:30 to 3 p.m. (Session 4)

Bring a favorite board game, sports activitie, soccer clinic (6-12 year olds, bring your own soccer ball)

Thursday, Feb. 21

9:30 a.m. to noon (Session 5)

Lego building contest, arts and crafts, sports activities

12:30 to 3 p.m. (Session 6)

Bring a favorite board game, sports activities, baseball clinic (6-9 year olds, bring your own glove)

Friday, Feb. 22

9:30 a.m. to noon (Session 7)

Variety show, arts and crafts, sports activities

12:30 to 3 p.m. (Session 8)

Movie, sports activities
