Here are five things you should know about today in Barrington:

  1. Generally sunny with some passing clouds and temperatures again getting up into the 50s.
  2. A matinee movie and lecture series, "Fond of Fonda: Saluting Henry Fonda," continues today at 2 pm in the Barrington library auditorium with "The Lady Eve," a screwball comedy with Fonda as Charles Pike, a gullible heir to a family fortune who falls for card sharp Jean Harrington, played by Barbara Stanwyck.
  3. Barrington Neighbors and Newcomers hosts tennis drills and a workout at Centre Court Tennis, 55 Hospital Road, Riverside, at 9 am.
  4. A Knitters Group meets at the Barrington Senior Center in the level of the library building every Wednesday at 10 am.
  5. St. James Lutheran Church hosts each Wednesday during Lent from 6:30 to 8 pm a meal of soup, bread and salad in the Community room, followed by a service of prayer in the Sanctuary.
