5 Things to Know About Today

Rain showers; 'To Sir With Love' plays in library; circus skills workshop; duplicate bridge; tennis drills.

Here are five things you should know about today in Barrington:

  1. Carry an umbrella with you today. Rain showers are forecast early with overcast skies shutting out the sun. But it will be unseasonably warm with temperatures reaching into the mid 50s. 
  2. “To Sir With Love,” starring Sidney Poitier, kicks off a “teachers in the movie series” of films at the Barrington library auditorium. The show starts at 7 pm. 
  3. Barrington Community Theater continues its Monday Circus Skills Workshop from 5 to 7 pm at the Barrington Middle School. Students can come and learn a variety of skills, including Juggling, Hula Hoop Dancing, Poi Spinning, Stilt Walking, Unicycling, and Yo-Yo tricks.
  4. Play Duplicate Bridge every Monday at the Barrington Senior Center at 6:45 pm.
  5. The Barrington Neighbors and Newcomers Club hosts tennis drills and workouts at the tennis club at 55 Hospital Drive in nearby Riverside starting at 9 am.
