BlumShapiro Announces the Promotion of Barrington Resident Michael Pendergast to Partner

BlumShapiro, the largest regional accounting, tax and business consulting firm based in New England, has announced the promotion of Michael Pendergast to partner in the firm’s Litigation Services and Business Valuation Group, as well as tax department.

Pendergast formerly served as a principal at Sullivan and Company prior to its merger with BlumShapiro earlier this year. As a part of the Litigation Services and Business Valuation Group, Pendergast provides expert business valuations and in-person testimony in cases such as divorce, shareholder disputes and business acquisitions. He was in the first class in the state of Rhode Island to be certified with the distinction of Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV). Pendergast is also part of the firm’s tax practice and reviews tax compliance work, performs tax research and represents clients before the Internal Revenue Service. 

A native of Barrington, RI, Pendergast holds both a bachelor of science in accounting and a Masters in Taxation from Bryant University. Additionally, he is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants in the Tax and Management Consulting sections.
