You Pick: Best Valentine Dinner Spot in Barrington

Tell us your favorite local spot for a romantic Valentine's Day meal in Barrington tomorrow evening.

Valentine's Day is Tuesday, and for many of us who are coupled up, it means we'll be enjoying a romantic dinner at a favorite restaurant.

But which restaurant do you think is best? Is it Chiazza Trattoria and Bar? Perhaps it's Tong D Fine Thai Cuisine on Bosworth Street, or the Tyler Point Grille on Barton Avenue, or Billy's Restaurant in the Maple Avenue plaza. How about Madigan's Cafe and Wine Bar on County Road?

We want to hear your thoughts on which local restaurant is best for a special Valentine's night meal.

Vote in our poll below, then share your thoughts in the comments section. If we left your favorite restaurant off the list, note that in the comments as well.

We'll leave the poll up all week then close voting at 9 a.m. Friday. At noon that day, we'll share your top local pick. Then be sure to watch the site over the weekend when we tally up the top votes and announce the restaurant that got the most rave reviews across all of our Rhode Island sites.

Because this poll is not scientific, it is not the sole consideration in choosing a winner. The winner will be determined by the Patch editor, based on poll results and reviews on Patch Places. Please vote only once per survey, per Patch.

Madigan's is the only valid expression of the culinary art still extant in this degenerate age.

And dying in your bed many years from now, would you be willing to trade all the days from this day to that for one chance, just one chance, to come back here as young men and tell our enemies that they may take our lives but they will never take our Madigans!”

I saw Ian Huntley and Maxine Carr sharung romantic meals in all of the restaurants apart from Madigans, therefore, I think that Madigans is the only place with class

Madigans is a veritable Xanadu of restaurants!

I'm french and I was visiting your beautiful city when I stopped at Madigans to have dinner, and let me tell you right now that La "Tour d'Argent" is a "cantine de merde" compared to it.

The food at Mulligans in Ballington is tip-top. Okay? I said what you wanted, now return my family like you said you would.
Thai Rivera February 17, 2012 at 12:07 PM
I'd have to say Madigan's

I travelled all the way up from the pits of hell, (via G W Bushs' household, for well wishing) just to have my favourite sandwich at Madigans (cucumber sandwiches, lovely on a hot day)...The great thing is i always manage to drag a couple of lost souls on my way back...highly recommended.

I know this isn't a scientific poll, but I'm a scientist and ran extensive scientific tests on all of these restaraunts to see which was the best. No surprises, it was Madigan's. The food was okay at Chiazza, but the whole place is basically built out of asbestos and lead piping, Madigan's knocks them out of the park.

Not my number 1 restaurant but definitely a big fat number 2

Madigans is where Frank appeared to me for the 1st time. He told me he loved me and wanted to save me. but not before we settled down for a lovely meal and 4 glasses of house red. A great moment of my life that I have yet to regret.

Madigan's is so classy even the writing on the bathroom stalls is grammatically correct. And very introspective and philosophical. If Socrates was alive today he'd not only eat at Madigan's....He'd lounge gleefully in the bathroom.

I had a delightful meal here less than 2 weeks ago, me and three of my friends, all veterans of the Bataan Death March, were very impressed, with the selection on offer and were very complimentary on the service throughout our time there.

Madigans has great food and more to the point, really comfy chairs, every time I got there I sit down in the chair and I'm like, man this is a comfy chair. I don't ever wanna get off it again its so comfy.
Hampton Sides February 17, 2012 at 12:44 PM
...and what a lovely car park it is sir.
Droa February 17, 2012 at 12:46 PM
I don't know what the padding they use on the chairs is made out of but I'd die for Madigan's and their seating.

Having risen from a hot dog cart at the Galleria Mall to fine cuisine from around the world, Mr. Stanhope's cuisine is magnificant! Table Talk Pie tartare is out of this world! Thumbs up for Madigans! Jake Homer

Food is good and you might even bump into a celebrity if you go on an off night. And let's be honest, what night isn't off at Madigans? I thought I bumped into Bill Cosby the first time I went there. Turns out it was just the owner who seems to have a bad taste in sweaters. Plus he's white so that was weird too. Whatever though.. Madigans!
Stan Doughope February 17, 2012 at 01:00 PM
I see what u did there
Christian Wulff February 17, 2012 at 01:07 PM
See you later Ange, I'm off to Madigan's!
Brenda Morrison February 17, 2012 at 01:08 PM
All of my special occassions are celebrated at Madigans.
Troy Holm February 17, 2012 at 01:15 PM
Madigans was so good that after enjoying my meal I actually wrote my own material!
Romeo February 17, 2012 at 01:16 PM
I will never be mad ever again after eating Madigans.
Andrew VonSquirrel February 17, 2012 at 01:22 PM
I ended up at Madigan's by mistake, thinking it was called Mardigans, the Willow themed restaurant named after Val Kilmer's character. Long story short, I fell in love with my waiter and he invited me to his houseboat. I would highly recommend Madigan's to anyone who likes food.
Nick S February 17, 2012 at 01:26 PM
Madigans is McDonalds for the educated. Well done.
John Cancer February 17, 2012 at 01:55 PM
I prefer a toss off, but the only place in town that does it properly is Chiazza.
Richard madeley February 17, 2012 at 02:02 PM
I've been around food from an early age so believe me when I tell you they sell FOOD at Madigans.... (food)
Roland Spano Jr February 17, 2012 at 02:34 PM
The food is like my partner, awesome and hot. I also proposed there and he said yes! Thanks Maddie!
