Barrington Woman Helps the Disorganized Make Sense of the Mess

Lisa Griffith can help disorganized people make their homes lives more peaceful and functional.

Lisa Griffith of Barrington is a professional organizer. Her mission is to help people make their home lives more peaceful and functional.

“I really enjoy going into someone’s home, which has often been a source of stress for them, and helping them create order out of the chaos,” said Griffith.

She started her business, The Organized Way, because she found her favorite times involved helping friends, family and colleagues organize their homes and offices.

“I know some people shudder with horror at the thought, but I really do enjoy digging into a mess and making sense of it,” says Griffith.  “My clients find that I often save them both time and money — by being able to find what they need when they need it and setting up systems that help them keep it that way.”

Griffith has raised two children of her own. She says her experience as a mom and taking care of her home while also working outside the home has helped her understand the challenges many moms go through.

Griffith is an instructor with the Barrington Community School, which offers a host of fun, interesting and informative classes for everyone.  Next week she is teaching two organizing workshops at the Barrington Middle School.

Organizing for Busy Moms will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 16 from 7 to 8:30 pm.  Griffith will teach organizing tips and techniques for busy moms. She'll show them how to manage their time and their stuff and still have something left over for themselves.

Conquering Paper Clutter will be offered on Thursday, Feb. 17, from 7 to 8:30 pm. This workshop will teach strategies for managing the day-to-day influx of paperwork that seems to be everywhere and often threatens to take over home and life. Griffith will demonstrate how to put your hand on important items quickly and get and keep things under control.

The fee for each workshop is $20 for members and $30 for non-members. Contact the Barrington Community School at 245-0432 or go to the school's website and click on the Winter/Spring 2011 brochure for more details about the classes.
