Barrington Mitey Mites victorious against Warwick 12-0

It was a foggy Sunday morning at the Warwick High School field. The Barrington Mitey Mites were ready to play right from the beginning.  The first play resulted in a 41 yard run by Joe Medieros thanks to key blocks by Puck Arnone and Sebastian St. Sauveur.  Warwick made a good defensive stand and Barrington turned over the ball on downs at the Warwick 19 yard line.

Warwick drove down the field.  Barrington eventually stopped them at the 50 yard line thanks to key tackles by Nate Cooperman, Riley Greene, Adam  Camille, Brett White and Troy Van Ness.  On the next Barrington possession, Riley Greene ran four consecutive runs for 42 total yards. Quarterback Matt Raffa then performed a textbook fake hand-off to Greene to the right. On the same play, Raffa ran for a 10 yard touchdown to the left. Greene dipped his shoulder, pretending like he had the ball which allowed Raffa to run for the touchdown untouched by a Warwick defensive player.

On Warwick’s next possession, they fumbled on the first play.  Defensive Linemen Christopher DeSisto recovered it.  On the next drive, Barrington QB Nate Cooperman connected with running back Matt Raffa for a 21 yard pass on a critical fourth down.  Joe Medeiros ran for a 15 yard TD on a pitch to the right thanks to solid blocks by the entire offensive line, and a good block by running back Luca Marino.

Before the half ended, running back Beck Kegelman had two good runs;  one for 13 yards and another for 8.  Warwick started the second half with the ball. Barrington’s defense played well the entire second half.  Key plays were tackles by Nathan Cobery and defensive linemen, Adam Camille and Beck Kegelman each had sacks on different plays. Barrington was happy to walk off the field with a hard fought 12-0 win against Warwick.
