Legendary gospel singer Mavis Staples will be performing at the Newport Folk Festival this summer, the event's organizers announced.
It's the first act announced for this year's lineup and organizers said the festival will feature special guests in recognition of her birthday. They're calling it "75 Years of Mavis" and it will run through the weekend.
The festival runs from July 25 to 27.
