Community Theater Students Take Stage

Students in the summer enrichment camp of the Barrington Community Theater to perform in library tonight and Saturday night.

It’s community theater show night as students in the perform one-act plays and a musical revue in the library auditorium starting at 7 pm. (Also on Saturday at 7 pm in the same location.) Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for students and senior citizens. Tonight’s shows include “Chicken Bones for the Teenage Soup,” “Aliens Vs. Cheerleaders,” “and the "BEST of Broadway." If you would rather dance, head on over to the Democratic Club, 186 Roffee St., at 7 pm where professional dancer Nelia Lawton will lead lessons in and then host a social dance to test your skill.

Maybe you love to sing? Head over the bridges to “” at the Coffee Depot, 501 Main St., Warren, starting at 7 pm.

If Scrabble is your game, the Senior Center in the lower level of the library building hosts a weekly at 10 am.

The best women amateur golfers in the world will be playing some practice rounds at the Rhode Island Country Club as a prelude to the 2011 U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship starting on Monday. Click here to see a preview story.
