Who has the best soccer shot on goal in the East Bay?
The second annual Soccer Shoot Out on Saturday, Oct. 13, could answer that question. It runs from 8 am to 2 pm at three fields in Barrington.
The event benefits the East Bay Coalition for the Homeless. Boys and girls from U4 to U14 can register that day at one of the fields: Chianese Memorial Park, St. Andrews School or Middle Highway.
The registration fee is $5. The competition will be by age group with awards for each group.
All tie-breakers will be held the same day at 2 pm. Winners in each category will be awarded the trophies at a reception later in the month.
Each child takes three kids into a medium-sized unattended goal with the distance based on age group with their regulation size ball. The best out of 5 scoring goals are tallied and winners will be announced from each of the groups.
The East Bay Coalition for the Homeless is a program of East Bay Community Action and offers homeless prevention, housing and vital support services to families faced with homelessness.
