On Saturday March 29rd, Nayatt school will hold its 8th annual Nayatt 5K Run/Walk.
And according to those involved, the Nayatt 5K event is much more than just a race.
The main event is the 5k Run/Walk which starts at 10am and takes place on a USATF sanctioned course that is certified by Ray Nelson. The scenic course winds through the neighborhoods of Nayatt school and along the banks of the Barrington River.
But, starting at the 7:15 a.m. registration there will be music
provided by the YMCA to get everyone stretched out and excited for the kids
races. The other races include a Family One-Mile Run/Walk at 9am and an
all-ages 50 yard dash at 9:30 a.m.
NBC10's Chief Meteorologist Mark Searles will be
announcing the event and the race winners. All 50 yard dash participants will
receive a metal. Medals will also be awarded to the top finishers in each age
group of the One-Mile run and a $100 cash prize will be given to the top
overall male and female 5k participant.

New for this year will be carnival games inside the school, and a climbing rock wall outside as long as the weather cooperates. There will also be a tabletop fair featuring the race's larger sponsors who will provide food and drinks at no charge. A raffle will be part of our fair which will include great items such as a kids' bike or an Elaine White Spa package. Just bring a non-perishable food item for the Tap-In donation and you will get a free raffle ticket for the prize of your choice.
