Find Some 'Treasures' at Holy Angels' Annual 'White Elephant Sale'

The annual summer sale in Barrington is tomorrow, July 13, in the parish parking lot on Maple Avenue.

It's one of the annual highlights each summer in Barrington – the Amazing White Elephant Sale at Holy Angels church -- and it runs on Saturday, July 13.

The sale is the kickoff to one of the oldest summer festivals in the East Bay in a few weeks. It starts at 8 am in the parish parking lot.

Parishioners clean out their garages and attics and storage areas to benefit the parish. And every item is marked with a “reasonable” price.

Merchandise has been coming into the parish for weeks, including household items, sporting goods, books, clothing, and boxes and boxes of goods filled with some new “treasures” for you. The white elephant sale usually raises up to $1,000 for the parish.

Volunteers staff the sale as they do the August festival that at one time in Barrington saw mostly Italian parishioners march through the streets with push carts of traditional Italian food.

Keep your fingers crossed on the weather. A spot shower with a temperature reaching the low 80s is forecast by the National Weather Service. But the white elephant sale reportedly has never been rained out.
