5 Things to Know About Weekend

Hot and muggy; farmers market at 'White Church'; summer reading club; ride historic carousel; hike refurbished trails at Veterans Park.

Here are five things you should know about this weekend, July 5-7, in and around Barrington:

  1. Possibility of thunderstorms with temperatures approaching 90 degrees each day.
  2. The Go Local farmers market continues at Barrington Congregational Church on Saturday from 9 am to noon.
  3. The Dig Into Reading summer reading club at Barrington library holds reporting and registration from 9:30 am to 4 pm in the children's room.
  4. Ride the historic Looff Carousel at Crescent Park, 700 Bullocks Pointe Ave., in Riverside from 12 noon to 8 pm each day.
  5. Spend an hour or so hiking the renovated trails in Veterans Memorial Park tucked at the end of West Street behind the Bayside YMCA.
