5 Things to Know About Today

Warm and wet; 'My Doll and Me' summer camp; make music workshop in library; Waldo visiting; Junior Golf teens off.

Here are five things you should know about today, July 8, in and around Barrington:

  1. Continued warm and wet with a few showers early and isolated thunderstorms in the afternoon with a high temperature of 87 degrees.
  2. My Doll and Me summer camp, part of the Barrington Recreation Department’s offerings, opens today from 9 to 11 am at the Barrington Middle School; it runs through Friday.
  3. A free Rhythm Imaginarium workshop at 6 pm for kids ages 4 and older with Rick Morin will dig into music using recycled objects in the Barrington library children’s room; registration is required to attend. 
  4. Waldo is visiting Barrington again for the entire month of July. Find him hiding in 25 businesses throughout town with a passport list at Barrington Books and redeem the cards for prizes and enter to win the BIG Waldo gift bag.
  5. The first one-week session of the Barrington Recreation Department’s Junior Golf Program runs from 4:30 to 6 pm at Walker Farm off of County Road.
