PROVIDENCE - the YMCA’s Join for ME program has the goal of helping local youth maintain a healthy weight as they get older. This is not to be thought of as an exercise or diet program. The main focus is to provide life-lasting skills and information that youth can rely on when they reach adulthood.

The Join for ME program is a yearlong initiative where family members meet weekly for sixteen weeks. This is followed up by eight monthly support classes. Trained lifestyle coaches will provide information on healthy food and drink choices, and discuss and track participant’s physical activity. Not only youth are positively affected by this program; parents report weight loss and more energy due to the food and health habits learned through these classes. This program has positive affects on the entire family!
