The YMCA of Greater Providence will host their third annual support campaign community breakfast on Wednesday, March 19 at 7:00 am at the Crowne Plaza in Warwick.

The event kicks off with registration and networking at 7:00 am where over 350 business leaders, elected officials and community stakeholders from around the state are expected to attend and have the opportunity to connect with each other.  The fast-moving and dynamic program begins at 7:30 am, and features an important keynote address from healthcare and business leader Peter Andruszkiewicz, president and CEO of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Rhode Island.  Andruszkiewicz will focus on the impact of the Affordable Care Act and the changing landscape of healthcare in Rhode Island.

Two featured speakers will tell their inspirational stories, and the impact the YMCA has had on the daily challenges each are working to overcome.  Gary “Tiger” Balletto, a professional boxer from Cranston, will share a short piece from a documentary that focuses on his boxing career, and discuss his tragic accident, and the battle he is waging to regain his health.   http://vimeo.com/78725506

Additionally, Ted Von Gerichten, a member of the YMCA of Greater Providence Bayside Y Board, whose incredible courage and indomitable spirit is helping him battle cancer; will discuss his relationship with the YMCA.

The program concludes by 9AM.  The breakfast is free and open to anyone interested in learning more about the work of the YMCA of Greater Providence, and the impact the Y has on the lives of adults and children each day.

For more information, or to make a reservation please call 401-427-1873; or RSVP to breakfast @gpymca.org.
