The award winning program ‘A Matter of Balance’ will be offered at a number of different YMCA locations throughout Rhode Island including

Matter of Balance is designed to reduce the fear of falling while increasing the activity level of older adults who have concerns about falls.  During the class participants will learn to control their fear of falling, set realistic goals for increasing activity, and enjoy an exercise routine to increase strength and balance.  Additionally, participants will be given tips to change their current environment to reduce the risk for falling.

Those that are concerned about falling or have sustained a fall in the past will benefit from this program.  For men and women over 60 who may be restricting activities due to a fall or fear of falls, and are interested in improving flexibility, balance and strength– this class is for you.
