Try-outs are being held for our 2014 ASA Travel Softball Teams. Our organization is growing fast! For 2014, we are looking for players for 10U, 12U, 14U, 16U and 18U teams. All positions are available for dedicated, motivated, and committed players. We are the only organization in the East Bay that offers a full indoor facility for year round training. Also, we are proud to welcome UMASS Dartmouth's college softball pitching coach, Shannon Silva, to our coaching staff this coming season!
Try-outs will be held at our indoor facility East Bay Baseball Academy, 47 Gooding Ave, Bristol, RI.
All interested players must attend at least one try out date. It is advised that players try to attend two dates as the competition will be at a high level. Please note, current Lady Bulldogs players are not guaranteed a roster spot.
TRYOUT DATES (Please arrive 15 minutes early for registration and warmups)
Monday, August 12th from 6:30 – 8:00pm
Tuesday, August 13th from 6:30 – 8:00pm
Wednesday, August 14th from 6:30 – 8:00pm
Please wear appropriate softball attire, bat, glove, batting helmets and sneakers, NO CLEATS.
Each player will be evaluated by a panel of coaches along with the head coach of each team through a variety of skills test and drills that will show the players softball skills, knowledge and abilities. Players will be placed on the appropriate team once they have been selected by the panel to ensure a strong and balanced team.
Players may be notified via email or by phone from the head coach offering them roster spot. If you are not selected or offered a roster spot you will be notified via email within 3 days of the last try out date. Handouts about each team’s mission, goals and team information will be available at try outs.
Once a player has been offered a roster spot that is accepted by the player and parent, the following must be completed: 1.) Signed Contract and Commitment Agreement, 2.) Non- Refundable deposit, 3.) Copy of their Birth Certificate, 4.) Medical release form
The non- refundable deposit tells us that you are committed to the team selected. Also, it is unfair to take a spot from another player who could have been selected if you later change your mind.
If you are unable to attend tryouts, but are interested in our teams, please contact us by email at eastbayladybulldogs@gmail.com to arrange for a private try-out. All inquiries will be held in the strictest of confidence. We are also currently looking to add potential coaches to our staff, email us for more information.
