Cultural Childcare in Your Home!

Smart families realize benefits of hosting an Au Pair compared to hiring a Nanny!

Hosting an Au Pair, you interview over time, Skype with your Au Pair & family/friends, over multiple occasions. Most Nannies don’t offer you to also interview their family/friends!

Au Pairs pass a criminal background check, previous childcare references (not family members) & school have been agency-verified; if you want a background check for a Nanny, pay for it & check references yourself.

Infant-qualified Au Pair profiles even show you how many hours with each age group (under 2 yrs) is verified experience.

Au Pairs are the perfect age (18-26) to be responsible, yet active, with your kids; they are not teenagers, but also not “boring.” Au Pairs pass health exams & psychometric testing to determine they are right for the program; a Nanny may be unable to relate to young children or may not be the people-person as-advertised.

Au Pairs from Go Au Pair complete 32 hrs of training including child development, focusing on U.S. specific safety practices & review of CPR/First Aid procedures; no specific training is required for a person to call themselves a Nanny.

Host Families get to set house rules, curfew, day/night guests, work/vacation schedules plus TV, phone, internet & gaming usage! Nannies may have outside responsibilities that define their schedules more rigidly than an Au Pair who lives with you!

Full time Au Pairs work up to 45 hrs/wk (>10 hrs/day) for about $329/wk (or p/t >30 hrs/wk @ $277/wk) & can do tasks like kids’ laundry, tidying up kids’ play areas & rooms, light meal prep/clean up & even driving. The U.S. Dept. of State regulates the Au Pair Program for cultural exchange visitors; Go Au Pair sponsors the Visa & handles all paperwork & logistics for you.
