Workshop on eBooks; Wrestlers, Frosh Boys Play; Friends Offer Specials

Here are some things to know about today in and around Barrington.

Here are a few things to know about today, Jan. 9, in and around Barrington:

  • Mostly sunny and a bit warmer with a high temperature near 31 degrees.
  • Drop by the Barrington library between 2 and 4 pm for a workshop on how to learn how to download eBooks. Bring your eReader device, library card and your device passwords.
  • The Barrington Senior Services Advisory Board meets at 7 pm in the Senior Center in the lower level of the library building.
  • The wrestling team at Barrington High School competes at 5 pm in a tri-meet at East Greenwich High School that also includes Pilgrim High.
  • The freshmen boys’ basketball team at Barrington High School travels to Lincoln High for a game at 3:30 pm.
  • The Friends of the Barrington Public Library always offer a few very special books for purchase directly from the library's book sorting room. Call the Reference Department at 401-247-1920 ext 2, and a Friends member will contact you to schedule an appointment to view the books.
  • Call the Barrington library ahead of time if you are attending an event or meeting there. Work on replacing the elevator has started, which makes the second floor inaccessible except by the stairwell. The number is 401-247-1920.
