RIDOT Holds 'Community Meeting'; Field Hockey Team in Semifinals

Here are some things to know about in Barrington.

Here are a few things you may want to know about today, Oct. 30, in and around Barrington:

  • Cloudy with with a chance of a morning shower and temperatures reaching into the 50s.
  • Join librarian and film enthusiast Doug Swiszcz at 1 pm for the final movie in the “Things That Go Bump in the Night” film series. This week’s final film is The Others, starring Nicole Kidman as a rigid, highly strung woman who lives with her son and daughter in virtual darkness to protect them from their allergy to natural light and “others” in the house.
  • The RI Department of Transportation hosts a community meeting at 6 pm in the Barrington library to provide an update on the replacement of the Central Bridge across the Barrington River at the “White Church” on County Road.

  • The Barrington High School girls’ field hockey team plays at 7 pm at Cranston Stadium in a semifinal of the RI Interscholastic League’s state tournament.
