Play Some Basketball, Wrap Gifts Like Art Work, Contra Dance

Here are some things to know about today in Barrington.

Here are some things to know about today, Dec. 12, in Barrington: 

  • Mainly sunny and very cold with temperatures topping out near 25 degrees.
  • The open-gym men’s basketball drop-in program operated by the Barrington Recreation Department continues at the Barrington Middle School from 7 to 9 pm. Men 18 and older can play every Thursday.  
  • Teens! Decoupage an ornament using old book pages and a bit of glitter at the Barrington library at 6 pm. It can make a great gift.
  • Learn to create artfully wrapped gifts at a workshop, Holiday Gift Wrapping 101, at the Barrington library at 6:30 pm. Local artist Suzanne Volmer will show you how to give gifts that really stand out under the tree.
  • Want to contra dance? Go to the Warren Community Center at 790 Main St. and join East Bay Contra Dance. You don’t need a partner. There is a $5 fee.
