'Great Gatsby' Airs in Library; Play Some Hoops at Middle School

Here are some things to know about in Barrington.

Here are some things to know about today, Nov. 14, in Barrington: 

  • Sunny skies and a bit warmer with temperatures topping out near 48 degrees.
  • To celebrate National Novel Writing Month, the Barrington Public Library will screen another film that celebrates the Great American Novel. “The Great Gatsby” airs at 7 pm in the theater-like auditorium; it stars Leonardo DiCaprio and was directed by Baz Luhrmann.
  • The open-gym men’s basketball drop-in program operated by the Barrington Recreation Department continues at the Barrington Middle School from 7 to 9 pm. Men 18 and older play every Thursday.  
  • The Barrington School Committee meets at 7:30 pm in the School Committee Meeting Room in Town Hall.
  • The Barrington Senior Services Advisory Board meets at 7 pm in the Senior Center in the lower level of the library building.
  • The Barrington Technical Review Committee meets at 7 pm in the board room of the library.
