Frigid Temperatures; BHS Ice Hockey, Swimming Teams Play

Here are some things to know about today in and around Barrington.

Here are a few things to know about today in and around Barrington:

  • Snow tapers off this morning as temperatures plummet with a high near 15 degrees and winds of 25 to 35 mph, making it feel like 5 to 10 degrees below zero. 
  • The Barrington High School boys’ and girls’ swimming teams travel to Cumberland High for a meet at 4 pm.
  • The Barrington/Portsmouth/Mt. Hope co-op girls’ ice hockey team hosts Toll Gate at 6 pm at the Portsmouth Abbey rink.
  • The Barrington High School boys’ ice hockey team travels to the Smithfield Municipal Rink to tangle with the squad from Burrillville High School at 7 pm. 
  • The Friends of the Barrington Public Library offers some very special books for purchase directly from the library's book sorting room. Leave your name and telephone number with the Reference Department staff, either in person or by telephoning 401-247-1920 ext 2. 
  • Call the Barrington library ahead of time if you are attending an event or meeting there. Work on replacing the elevator has it out of service, which makes the second floor accessible only by the stairwell. The number is 401-247-1920.
