Here are some things to know about today in Barrington.

Here are some things you should know about today in Barrington:

  • Cloudy and warmer with temperatures getting up into the mid-40s. There is a chance of a shower.
  • Barrington Books, 184 County Road, hosts a discussion and signing of the book, “The People’s Martyr,” from 6:3o to 8 pm. The book, by Providence College professor Erik Chaput, offers just about everything you want to know about Rhode Island’s Dorr Rebellion.
  • The Barrington library brings a children’s book author to the auditorium to speak about tips and tricks to writing and publishing your own book. Peter Mandel of Providence, the author of 11 books for kids, stops by from 6:30 to 8 pm.
  • Literacy Volunteers of East Bay meet at 6:30 pm in the quiet study area of the Rogers Free Library, 525 Hope St., Bristol.
