Boys, Girls Teams Swim at YMCA, Basketball Squads Take to Road

Here are some things to know about today in and around Barrington.

Here are a few things to know about today, Jan. 10, in and around Barrington:

  • Mostly cloudy with scattered snow and rain showers and a high temperature near 42 degrees.
  • The boys’ and girls’ swimming teams at Barrington High School host East Greenwich High at 3:30 pm at the Bayside YMCA on West Street.
  • The Barrington High School boys’ basketball team travels to Pawtucket for a game against Tolman High at 7 pm.
  • The Barrington High School girls' basketball team travels to Glocester for a game against Ponaganset High at 7 pm.
  • The Barrington High School boys’ ice hockey team travels to the Smithfield Municipal Rink to tangle with the squad from Bishop Hendricken at 8:30 pm. 
  • The Friends of the Barrington Public Library offers some very special books for purchase directly from the library's book sorting room. Leave your name and telephone number with the Reference Department staff, either in person or by telephoning 401-247-1920 ext 2. 
  • Call the Barrington library ahead of time if you are attending an event or meeting there. Work on replacing the elevator has it out of service, which makes the second floor accessible only by the stairwell. The number is 401-247-1920.
