DESCRIPTION:Is glass a craft or an art?&nbsp\; You will decide as we expl
ore current glass artists and their methods\, highlighting those most a
dmired by Roberta Segal on Wednesday\, November 14th at 7PM in the 2nd
floor Auditorium of the Barrington Public Library. Since our earliest h
istory\, we can imagine the fascination when the sand surrounding a fir
epit suddenly converted to a solid material. And since that time little
has changed in the method of forming this material\, &mdash\; one that
captures\, reflects\, refracts light along with our imagination as none
other. Roberta Segal works in kiln-formed glass\, the oldest method k
nown to man predating glass blowing.&nbsp\; She will demonstrate the pr
ocess she uses to achieve her finished pieces along with the inclusions
that may be used. Roberta Segal has lived in East Bay for several deca
des.&nbsp\; She and her husband moved to Warren from Barrington 17 year
s ago\, where she now has her studio.&nbsp\; To see her work and her lo
ve of glass\, go to http://www.robertasegal.com.
