More About Barrington High School

Barrington High School

The high school is recognized as one of the best in Rhode Island, and it has a tradition of academic excellence and a mission to challenge each student to reach his or her highest level of achievement.  A diverse array of extracurricular activities and sports complement learning. In short, according to Principal Joseph D. Hurley, the school is building a professional learning community with "an extremely dedicated staff that continues to push forward and has a willingness to change," and "a student body that has a willingness to learn." Parents also are heavily involved in the school, and everyone wants to make things even better, Hurley says. The high school has two assistant principals, Michael Messore and Nicole Varone, and an athletics director, George Finn.
