Duelly Noted, a co-ed a cappella group from Hamilton College, will perform a concert at 7:30 p.m. today, Jan. 11, at the Barrington Congregational Church, 461 County Rd., Barrington.

The 17-member group includes Barrington resident Molly Voigt, Hamilton College Class of ’15.

The 45 minute performance is free, and a freewill collection will be held to benefit the BCCUCC Youth Mission Trip.

The group’s diverse repertoire often features many "oldies" (“Why Do Fools Fall In Love,” “Dream Lover,” “The Way You Look Tonight”), Disney classics (“Can You Feel the Love Tonight,”), fun pop (“Born this Way,” “Love on Top,” “Some Nights”), and several holiday classics.

Duelly Noted’s stop in Barrington is part of the group’s five-day annual winter tour. Other stops on the New England tour include Ballston Spa High School, Ballston Spa, NY; Union College, Schenectady, NY; Our Lady of the Magnificat, Kinnelon, NJ; and Amherst College, Amherst, MA.

Duelly Noted was founded at Hamilton in the spring of 2008 by eight freshmen.  The group has since grown to 17 members, freshmen through seniors.  In its first four years, the group has already performed in several unique venues including the streets of Venice, Italy.

Well known as "The White Church" in the East Bay, Barrington Congregational also is one of Rhode Island's oldest. Founded in 1717, the landmark church actually dates back to the 1660s, when a congregation gathered not far away on Hundred Acre Cove.

This Congregational/UCC church is rooted in the "covenantal" tradition, according to its senior pastor, the Rev. Dr. Jeffrey W. Larsen. There is no centralized authority or hierarchy to impose doctrine or a form of worship. "Everything is determined by a democratic vote of the congregation," says Rev. Larsen. Sunday School, youth programs, education and community outreach are its primary focuses. "We believe in community and see the life of Jesus as a model," Rev. Larsen says. The associate pastor is the Rev. Elizabeth Barnum.
