With its 127 acres of fields, forests, flower gardens and beautiful shoreline, Mount Hope Farm is truly one of Rhode Island's hidden gems. The farm has a colorful history as it has passed through several prominent owners over the centuries, but is now open to the public under the ownership of the Mt. Hope Farm Trust. Visitors can stay in the historic Governor Bradford Inn and explore some of the scenic waterfront grounds which played host to the last battle of King Philip's War in the late 1600s. Mount Hope Farm is open for the public to enjoy seven days a week from dawn until dusk.

Veterans Memorial Park is often referred to as Barrington’s best-kept secret. That’s how a father, with his 9-month-old son in tow, referred to it on their recent visit there. Dad fishes in adjacent Brickyard Pond, and he rarely sees more than a handful of people at any time. Because you can only get there by car from West Street, a dead-end road at the Bayside Family YMCA parking lot, it’s a bit out of the way.
