Another step in the Bay Spring community center's evolution into an Arts and Cultural Center for the whole town will occur this coming Saturday night (the 28th) when the Local Brew Coffeehouse gang pull together an intimate cafe event on the first floor of the building on 170 Narragansett Ave.  

As you may recall, the second floor (where you'll find the stage and performance space) is closed for renovations.  

The first floor bay area (which used to be a neighborhood fire station) will be transformed into an intimate performance space.  The event showcases several other local musicians, demonstrating once again the depth of creative talent present here in Barrington.  Some of the musicians are new to the community center; others have played there before. Hopefully each of them will find a creative home on our stage!

Bay Spring Folk will act as the ostensible hosts for the evening.  Other musicians will include (see below for extended musician biographies):

Pat McGee: Pat McGee recently moved to Barrington, and we are glad for that. He will be accompanied by his sometime band mate, Pat McAloon.  Nationally recognized singer/songwriters each in their own rights, Pat and Pat will join forces for the evening.  They brought down the house during the Holiday Folk Fest.  We're thrilled to have both of them!

Katherine Quinn: Accomplished and celebrated, she's new to town. Her enthusiasm and sensitivity are a great addition to  our community.

Mr Whodo:  Made up of Walter Barlow, Joe Chirico, and Scott Harris, this band brings their impassioned folk americana sound to the stage.  They've played to wild approval upstairs and audiences are always happy to see them back again!

Jeremy and Caroline Woodward: Yet another set of newcomers, Jeremy and Caroline are musicians, puppeteers, artists, parents, and much more.  Their performance will be a hoot (word has it, they will be accompanied by some very young family members...). 

Tightly packed show?  You bet!  We'll have our hands full with this one!  But no matter, it'll be a blast.  

Because the show will be in the downstairs bay, seating is limited.  So it is important for attendees to make a reservation. Tickets will only cost $5 apiece, and you can make your reservation by emailing Sydney at Sydney_mike@fullchannel.net  

Gary Deslaurier (songwriter, singer, guitarist and uke savant for Bay Spring Folk) provided the inspiration for this scaled-down coffeehouse event.  The Local Brew gang (Sydney Montstream Quas, John Wood, Dr. Greg Sadovnikoff, and yours truly) have pulled together the show and will manage sound and logistics.
