Woman, 64, Charged With Larceny at Sweetbriar

Seekonk resident allegedly stole an electronic locking mechanism from one of the units at the housing complex in West Barrington.

 

A Seekonk woman, 64, was charged with larceny under $500 by Barrington police on Thursday morning, Feb. 9.

Elizabeth Dellefratte, of 1064 G.A.R. Highway, was charged after allegedly stealing an electronic lock mechanism from a Sweetbriar home, police said. A warrant had been issued for her arrest after an investigation into the larceny at the West Barrington housing complex a couple of months ago.

Her vehicle was stopped by a patrol officer for carrying an expired inspection sticker. The warrant showed up when her name was run by police. She was arrested around 10:11 am.

Warren man arrested on warrant

A Warren man, 29, was arrested by Barrington police on a District Court bench warrant on Thursday evening, Feb. 9.

Richard A. Alcantar, of 67 Water St., failed to appear in court on a suspended license charge dating to Dec. 14, 2011. He was stopped for speeding by a patrol officer on Wampanoag Trail at 9:55 pm.

Police probing fence vandalism

Barrington police are investigating a case of vandalism to a fence at the Shell convenience store on County Road.

Two men were observed kicking pickets out of a fence behind the convenience store about 12:13 pm on Thursday, Feb. 9. A surveillance video is being viewed to try to identify the men, police said.

Shove triggers fire alarm at high school

A fire alarm at Barrington High School was triggered accidentally by two boys in a shoving match on Thursday morning, Feb. 9.

Police were told by an assistant principal that one of the boys was shoved by the other one into the alarm. The incident occurred at around 11:40 am.

‘Trespasser’ was appraiser

Barrington police were contacted on Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 7, about a possible trespasser at a home on Anchorage Way.

The man turned out to be an appraiser for Appraisal Resources who was inspecting the swimming pool at the home, police said. He apparently did not alert the homeowner to his presence at about 1:51 pm.
